I was very pleased to wake up this morning to a lovely book announcement from Ekstra Bladet, Danish for Additional Sheet (3/15/15).

My Danish is rough (read: non-existent), so I went to Google translate for an approximation. Here you have it, slightly copyedited:

In a series of personal essays, sociologist Chauntelle Tibbals takes you deep inside the porn industry.

While the porn industry is about to go to its knees under the weight of its own success, the media and researchers have become increasingly interested in pornography…

Sociologist Chauntelle Tibbals has written Exposure: A Sociologist Explores Sex, Society, and Adult Entertainment. Here, she addresses a number of preconceptions about the porn industry: There is no more mysterious, influential, and exciting world than the [adult entertainment] industry. It is my goal to break down stereotypes and misconceptions about the industry, illuminating the reality and the people who work in this world, explains Tibbals, who for many years has written about the industry in various media, including Playboy and Men’s Health. [Her work has also been] included in university textbooks.

She has made a website where you can see a number of the films she describes in her book. From classics like Deep Throat and The Devil in Miss Jones to recent titles like Joanna Angel: Ass Fucked and Beggin’ for a Peggin’ (here).

You can pre-order Exposure on Amazon here.

And check out the Exposure Store on ChauntelleTibbals.com here – it’s a great way to consider insights from the book in conjunction with the actual films and media I’m describing.

Enjoy!
