I recently came across two bits of news (“news”)…
First, “Jill and Jessa Duggar Tell UsWeekly Their Mom And Dad’s Rules For Dating And Sex Stuff” (9/25/14), an intentionally sarcastic bit wherein the comedic genius behind Dlisted.com runs down some of the Duggar clan’s courting dos-and-don’ts.
Things like parents of adult-aged children being copied on text messages, chaperoned dates, side hugs, and no dancing are all done in the spirit of suppressing pre-marital lustiness. Allegedly, lustiness is never very godly, but these rules help shuttle young Duggars into the realm of relative safety – marriage. And there’s only one rule post-marriage – that dudes get open-access to bang their wives whenever they want!
Thank goodness.

This extreme closed-hand of God was complimented nicely by another bit regarding his open mind – “Christian swingers like sharing Bible verses, sex partners” (9/25/14).
There’s no way I could sum this up better, so: “Cristy Parave and her husband, Dean, are the unashamed bodybuilding Jesus lovers bringing couples together and introducing them to their wild lifestyle of swapping sex partners and Bible verses” (here).
One word: Florida.
It (swinging) is still a sin – it’s just how you use the sin! (did you catch that?) Further, “I don’t think God would be mad at what we are doing,” Cristy said. “At first I was conflicted, but the more we looked at it, the more it makes sense to us.”
Nice!
Honesty, I care not in the slightest re how people have sex, or don’t for that matter. As long as consent is involved and one’s opinions or views are not being put upon others in a way that violates their civil rights or freedoms, go forth and prosper.
Because who am I to say what God does or does not like? And for that matter, how can one person’s/group’s interpretation of God’s opinions be considered more or less accurate than another’s? For all the Duggars actually know, Christy and Dean are 100% correct… which would make them (the Duggars) somewhat wrong.
These two stories made me happy. Because although I don’t pretend to know (or agree with) much of what God allegedly has to say, it’s nice to learn there’s a wide scope of perspectives regarding what sorts of sex behaviors are ok according to people.
Chauntelle…
Having studied religious/spiritual systems from deep Antiquity to present…
I am struck by their incredible ignorance of their professed ‘christianity’.
Either these ‘christian swingers’ are the most ignorant church-goers I’ve seen in a long time or..they are indulging in massive self-deception.
(akin to a Torah observant Jew deciding to eat ham sandwiches ..and then start a pig farm)
